Boarding |

Caterham School has around 165 boarders aged 11-18 out of a total school population of 820. Beech Hanger House has 65 girls whilst Townsend House has 38 junior boys and Viney House has 62 senior boys.
We want boarding at Caterham to be an enjoyable and beneficial experience, full of opportunities for discovery and personal development. We support and encourage our boarders to grow as confident and responsible young men and women, ready for education and ready for life in every direction. They live and work together in a relaxed, friendly, family environment.
‘Boarders have wonderful opportunities to flourish here, and we make sure that they have our total support.’ Teacher
The boarding experience is excellent, and is a strong factor in promoting the personal development of the pupils and enhancing their moral, social and cultural development, in line with the aims of the school.
Boarders’ relationships are friendly and they say that close friendships with their peers in the houses are a major reason why they enjoy boarding. The helpful contact with pastoral staff, including the matrons, is appreciated by the boarders.
‘’……….the school offers an outstanding level of care to the boarders. The overall quality rating is outstanding.’’
