Physical EducationGCSEIn Forms 4 & 5, two double lessons are allocated to GCSE PE – one double for theory, and the other double for practical. Theory: The group is split into two mixed sets. Practical: Boys and girls work in separate sets (apart from Athletics and Swimming). Four members of staff teach the GCSE courses – two for the theory, and two for the practical. AS LevelIn Lower 6th, eight lessons are allocated to AS Level PE. Pupils are split into two sets, depending upon their other options. Unit 1 2 Singles The social basis of sport and recreation. A2 LevelIn Upper 6th, eight lessons are allocated to A2 Level PE. Pupils are split into two sets, depending upon their other options. Both sets are taught together for Unit 4, and for Unit 6B, enabling pupils to choose between Biomechanics and Psychology.
