Virtual Learning Environment

Caterham School  uses a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to ensure that students can continue to study even when they are unable to reach School.

The VLE allows teaching staff to post everything from worksheets to podcasts of them delivering mini-lessons to ensure that any disruption to learning is greatly reduced. Students logging onto the website have instant access to the courses they follow at School. They are able to download files, access links to sound, video and internet pages, read regular bulletins from their teachers, or email them for help.

Mr. Kim Wells, Director of Learning & Teaching, said "The VLE not only provides us with the tools to minimise the impact of school closure or pupil absence, it also offers wonderful opportunities for extending learning beyond the classroom. We are very excited about how we can develop the use of this technology in the future to further enhance the learning experience here at Caterham".
