Headmaster Julian Thomas said: 'I am delighted with the achievements of these 126 remarkable young men and women. Last year's results were outstanding so it is a delight to be able to report two new records this year. It has been another busy year, even more so than usual with our bicentenary celebrations and the associated activities and events. I believe that these excellent results have been achieved not in spite of the breadth and depth of co-curricular involvement of our students, but because of it. They show, in the clearest possible way, that these activities do not need to be at the expense of academic achievement. These grades are a testament to the enthusiasm of our students and their commitment to a broad and varied education. I am particularly delighted to see that the 13 students accepted for Oxbridge, another record, have all achieved their necessary grades.
I would also like to pay tribute to our teaching staff. The students will know that the results today are also a tribute to their care and commitment.'
