Hollywood glitz came to Caterham School on 9 May as our Film Club held their first ever ‘Oscars’ awards, featuring work created by pupils over the past nine months.
During the final week of the Spring Term pupils in the First to Fourth Years took part in a Comic Relief Fun Run raising nearly £320 in the process.
On 20 March our team of Fourth Year pupils defeated 22 schools to progress to the National Final.
A few days later, they reach the Semi Finals of the Surrey U12 Lacrosse Tournament
The tournament took place on 6 March and our U18 rugby squad defeated City of London Freemen’s School 21-7, Emanuel School 19-12 and Latymer Upper School 24-12.
On 7 March, Malcolm Rose, author of thirty crime and thriller books for young people, visited us to talk to First and Second Year pupils as part of the Book Week celebrations. He also spoke to the School’s creative writing club about his writing technique.
Twenty four schools competed in the U15 Surrey Schools Rugby Sevens competition on 7 March. We hosted the event and our U15 squad won the shield competition.
Our 1st XII and 2nd XII lacrosse teams competed in the National Schools Lacrosse Finals on 1 and 2 March. Both teams reached the championship stage.
They reached the semi finals as top of their group but lost to a very strong St Catherine’s team.
On 3 March our U12, U13 and U14 netball teams competed in the Surrey Schools Tournament. The U12 and U14 teams both reached their respective Final and finished as Runner’s-Up to Guildford High School.
