Hockey at Caterham School is played regularly throughout the Spring Term, with fixtures against top hockey schools including Whitgift, St. George's College, King's College School Wimbledon, Royal Grammar School Guildford, Trinity and many more.

In the Autumn Term there are various indoor fixtures played at all age groups. This is run by Mr Barnard, ex England U21 international, and helps get the boys ready for the Spring Term and the very competitive fixtures that are played.

The expertise of coaching within the staff is excellent with many having played or playing at league, national or international level, lead by the Director of Hockey, Andrew Patterson. As a result the boys develop quickly upon joining the School progressing to a good playing level. The School plays in the Surrey Cup at various age levels. In 2010 the U16 team were semi finalists and the U14 team won the Surrey Cup, came 2nd in the South of England and finished 5th at the National Championships out of 872 entrants in the country

The School compete at St. George's College Sixes, the Bath Hockey Festival, several indoor competitions. There are regular tours for different age groups. The most recent tour was the Bicentennial Tour to New Zealand, Hong Kong and Los Angeles in summer 2011.

At present numerous players play for Surrey and several play for the South of England in their respective age groups.

The senior sides, in addition to their games and training have 2 extra training sessions before school, which have been hugely beneficial and enjoyable for the boys.
