Policy for kit

The Department aims to set high standards in the appearance of pupils for lessons, practices and matches, with members of staff responsible for activities laying down clear expectations.

All kit should be clearly named – lost property will be kept in the Sports Centre, but will be distributed weekly to the Houses, for return in House meetings.

Pupils are discouraged from bringing valuables to lessons – these can be left in their lockers.

Games Kit

Rugby: School Rugby shirt, black shorts, black/gold socks
Lacrosse: White shirt (numbered team shirt for matches), black skirt, black/gold socks
Netball: White shirt, black skirt, white socks
Hockey: School Rugby shirt (team shirt for matches), black shorts, black/gold socks
Cricket: White shirt, white cricket trousers (team)/ tracksuit trousers, white socks
Athletics: House vest/white shirt (team vest for competition), white shorts/black lycras
Tennis: White shirt, black/white skirt or white shorts, white socks

Appropriate footwear is essential. Studded footwear must be used for Winter Games played on grass. Flat, unsupportive ‘fashion’ trainers are not to be worn.

School tracksuits can be worn, as directed by staff, to supplement games kit in cold weather. They should be worn when travelling to and from school matches, and for warming up; they must not be worn in the match itself.

Mouthguards must be worn for Rugby, Lacrosse and Hockey. Pupils must provide their own Lacrosse / Hockey sticks and Tennis rackets. Team Cricketers should provide their own bat, but non-team players will be provided with bats for use in lessons.

Senior teams may have items of additional kit to ensure a smart and professional appearance.

Swimming Kit

Boys must wear School trunks (Forms 1-3) or School swimming shorts (Forms 4&5). Girls must wear School swimsuit and swimming hat.

PE Kit

In Forms 1-4, Boys must wear House vests / white shirts, white shorts and white socks. Girls must wear House vests / white shirts, black lycras and white socks. As most PE takes place indoors, a clean pair of trainers must be used.

If a pupil forgets kit for a lesson, they will be required to turn up for a supervised lunchtime activity. Persistent offences will result in a School Detention.
