Computing Pupils win through to App Competition Finals
A team of budding computer science entrepreneurs from Caterham School have made it to the finals of the 7 billion ideas app design competition.
Third Year pupils Caspar Barton, David Poolman, Dominic Wells and Ollie Wynn’s inspirational idea is to create an app to help educate teenagers about common problems they face such as acne, anorexia, depression and isolation. They say that the app will show people how to fix and avoid problems through videos, instructions and the ability to Facetime doctors to answer specific questions and problems.
The next stage of the competition will see them go head to head with nine other teams from around the country at IBM on the Southbank. If they are successful they will win a prize worth £20,000 and will work with a team of professional app designers to develop and launch their app on the App Store next year.Back to all news
