First Hand WW2 Memories Shared

First Hand WW2 Memories Shared

The French Society was delighted to welcome live from France, Mr & Mme Simonin, grandparents of Vivienne C. Mr. & Mme Simonin kindly give their time to talk about their experience and memories of occupied France during WW2. It was a fascinating insight into how it was to be a young person in war times. Mr. & Mme Simonin shared their memories in a way that was moving, funny and very educative. Some of their anecdotes were very surprising for pupils and teachers alike and prompted many questions. What a fantastic way for our A level pupils, to explore their French topic on “l’occupation” and no doubt no better way to make it stick! Thank you again to Vivienne and her family.
