Information for University and College Admissions Teams

Caterham School is a co-educational independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 11 – 18, with the majority of its boarders in the Sixth Form. Our intake of pupils is broad with an even mix of pupils coming to Caterham from local primary and preparatory schools.  Caterham actively supports and recruits pupils for the school’s transformational bursary places which support 100 per cent of fees to enable those who would not otherwise be able to consider taking a place at the school.

Pupils in the current Upper Sixth (Year 13) cohort have each pursued either three or four A Level subjects in the Lower Sixth (Year 12), with the majority choosing to pursue three subjects in the Upper Sixth.

The last three year A Level grade averages are as follows: A* – 38.5%;  A*-A – 71.7%;  A*-B – 90.7%

Centre Specific Impact of Coronavirus

A majority of our pupils engaged with a digital learning programme during the COVID-19 pandemic forced closure of educational institutions. Although this distance-learning solution ensured education continuity, many of our pupils have been affected by such disruption to the learning and university application process. We continue to closely monitor the impact of school closure on pupil progress and achievement.
