GENERAL SUMMER SCHOOL
What is Caterham Summer School?
A programme for students aged 11-17, combining academic study with activities, sports, excursions, and community events at the Caterham School campus in Surrey, UK.
Who can attend?
Our Summer School is open to students aged 11-17 years old.
What courses are available?
– EDGE Summer School – leadership, creativity, teamwork.
– Oracy School – public speaking, debate, communication skills.
– EAL English Summer School – improve English language skills.
When do the courses run?
Our two week courses start on Monday 6th July 2026 and Monday 20th July 2026. Students can also combine courses for a four-week experience.

Should students bring extra money?
There will be opportunities for children to purchase items such as presents and treats during excursions. We suggest students bring no more than £100 with them. Please ensure cash are current UK notes and not those that have gone out of circulation. More information can be found here.
ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES
Are airport transfers provided?
Transfers between 9am and 6pm from Heathrow or Gatwick to Caterham are included in the programme fees. Transfers outside these times or from other airports may incur an additional charge.
How far is central London/Heathrow/Gatwick/London City from Caterham?
It’s 50 minutes to Central London by train. Heathrow and London City Airport are approximately 50 minutes and Gatwick Airport is 20 minutes by road.
LESSONS
Will Students be in classes with other students of a similar English level?
Yes. All our students take an English test before arrival. The results of this will be used to place students in the correct English class.
BOARDING HOUSE
Is WI-FI available?
Yes, everyone will be provided with the details during the induction.
Do boys and girls sleep in separate accommodation?
Boys and girls will be split into different areas in the boarding houses.
What type of rooms do you have?
We have a variety of single, twin, or triple ensuite rooms, along with some twin or dorm-style rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Do staff live in the boarding house too?
Residential staff live on-site and are available at all times, providing 24-hour supervision and care.
