Caterham School is an independent co-educational HMC day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 – 18 years. We aim to provide an excellent all-round education so that every pupil can achieve their full potential academically and socially. We strive to develop each pupil as a whole person helping to prepare them for their life at university and beyond. We are a family school with Christian values providing a caring and stimulating environment.

We encourage independent thinking and lifelong learning. We offer a broad curriculum with a very wide range of co-curricular activities so that pupils can develop their skills and interests. Founded in 1811, the School is situated in 80 acres in the beautiful Harestone Valley

Another Record in GCSE Results
Excellent GCSE results with another School record broken.
~ 70% of grades were A*-A, the second highest achieved in the School
~ 91% of grades were A* - B, the third consecutive year that over 90% has been achieved
~ 99% of grades were A* - C, a new record for the School

Record Breaking A Level Results
Excellent results were achieved:
~ 25% of the grades were A*
~ 66% of the grades were A/A* up from 60% ‘A’ last year
~ 92% of the grades were A*/A/B up from 85% ‘A/B’ last year

The late S.R. Smith MA
The School is saddened to report the death of Stephen Smith, Headmaster 1974 – 1995, on 9th August. There is to be a private, family funeral on 3rd September. There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for Mr Smith’s life...

Speech Day Prizes Presented by Kyran Bracken MBE
Pupils received 177 prizes and awards at Speech Day on 10th July and Kyran Bracken gave an entertaining and inspirational speech during which he shared his secrets of success...

In 2010 we had an Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) standard inspection.
