Oracy Summer School Programme at Caterham School
BUILDING LEADERSHIP THROUGH SPEECH
The Oracy Programme forms part of Caterham Summer School and is designed to develop students’ spoken communication, confidence and leadership through speech. Delivered by Caterham School – an award-winning independent school recognised nationally for innovation, wellbeing and academic excellence – the programme equips students aged 11-17 with the skills to express ideas clearly, listen actively and communicate with impact.
With communication ranked by LinkedIn as the #1 skill sought by employers, there has never been a better time for young people to think more deeply about how to make themselves understood via individual and collaborative speaking challenges.The Oracy summer course seeks to build a variety of communication, research, speaking, and listening skills amongst participants through a range of complex and challenging competitions.

By the end of the programme, students will be able to communicate with precision and fluency in English in a variety of different forums. Self-reliance, initiative, confidence, and the art of persuasion all feature heavily in this dynamic and engaging course.
