Welcome to the Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form

We are really looking forward to welcoming you into the Sixth Form this September, particularly if you are also joining the School.

This page collects together lots of important and useful information, and explains the summer work that we recommend pupils undertake so that they can make the best start to their exciting Sixth Form experience.

I am keen for every pupil starting Sixth Form with us in September to be given the chance to engage in something small-scale but enriching over the summer (in each of the A Level subjects).  There is provision of some specific start of A Level readings and some introductory work.  We want pupils to get excited about what is to come and help shape their expectations about A Level studies.

Please note that under the title, Sixth Form Summer Work, there is a Sixth Form Discovery Booklet which offers guidance on what to read and resources to use during the upcoming A Level experience.

Double congratulations for choosing Latin and Greek at A level! You have impeccable taste. As with your Latin guide, the purpose of this booklet is to give you an idea about what you will be studying next year and also to outline some holiday work that you will be expected to undertake. It is particularly important that you learn the new Lower Sixth vocabulary as early as you can. However, the two papers you will sit at the end of the year are very straightforward, and they contain exactly the same elements (translation and set texts) that you found at GCSE.
