Refugee Week 2022
This week we have marked Refugee Week 2022. This year’s title is Healing, raising awareness of the importance of community and empathy as refugees rebuild their lives.
Refugee Week is a UK-wide festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. During this week pupils are asked to look beyond labels, understand why people are displaced, and the challenges they face when seeking safety.
Assemblies this week were created and presented by Tomini O (L6). She gave pupils the opportunity to reflect on the experience of being a refugee and considered ways that each of us can be supportive and make a difference.
