45 Distinctions in Outstanding LAMDA Results

50 pupils will be receiving their spectacular LAMDA results from the March exams this week with 45 of them gaining a Distinction! With 3 days of exams covering grades 2-8 and a whole range of disciplines including acting, speaking in public, musical theatre, verse and prose, reading for performance and devising, these are outstanding results.

Furthermore, an unprecedented 13 pupils achieved 90 or above (a Distinction is 80) with a notably spectacular result for Zoe T(U6) who was awarded 97 out of 100 for her Grade 8 Acting, which is the highest mark achieved by a pupil at Caterham for this grade and one rarely given. Grade 8 Acting requires pupils to perform 3 contrasting monologues from different time periods as well as answer detailed questions about a Theatre Practitioner and the characters’ roles in each play, so thorough research and preparation is needed. Zoe got full marks in this section as well as full marks for all the assessment objectives for her performance as hotel maid Amy who comes across a dead body in a hotel room in Laura Wade’s dark comedy ‘Breathing Corpses.’ Holly D (U6) also achieved an outstanding 93 for her Acting Grade 8 and there are many more individual success stories at all grades.

Congratulations to all pupils who took an exam and good luck to the next 56 LAMDA students who will be taking their exams on 15/16May, including 3 Sixth Form pupils who will be taking the highly regarded PCertLAM Diploma which involves an hour long performance and a 6000 word essay.
