Caterham gets the Green Light!
An aptly number team of Seven Caterham pupils headed to Bedford Autodrome in the early hours to compete in the Greenpower heats, which is a competition where students build a kit car that must run from battery power alone and races against other cars for the most number of laps completed on a set course. After completing extensive work on the car in the morning, it passed scrutineering, allowing us to race on the track. After two rounds of racing, the vehicle completed enough laps to secure 23rd out of the 31 teams that participated on the day.
The competition marks the school’s second race in the Greenpower heats, and significant improvements were seen compared to our last race. The team were well behaved and worked hard to ensure the vehicle continued to run effectively and safely. Many thanks to the Parent’s Association for their funding of the kit to build the car.
