Young Fashion Designer UK 2025 Finalists

Young Fashion Designer UK 2025 Finalists

Textiles innovation is transforming the fashion industry, making it more sustainable, functional and high performing.  Young Fashion Designer UK is a competition aimed at redefining the future of fashion through textile innovation. The competition seeks to empower young designers, engineers and innovators to create groundbreaking fabrics that align with the values of sustainability, functionality and creativity. The theme was ‘Sustainability and Eco Threads’.

Art Scholars explored creating, recycling and upcycling fabrics as well as creating a capsule wardrobe with multiple functions. They designed dresses that could be converted into skirts, trousers into shorts, removeable accessories, reversible coats etc in their bid to reduce space and textile waste.

Anja Van Damme in second year and Rene Zeng in third year, have been invited to exhibit their work in the finalists exhibition of the YFD UK 2025 competition.

The live final will be held this Saturday at Kent College, Pembury, where students will present their work and personal TikTok style videos explaining their passion for fashion, style and vision. Winners will be announced at the event on Saturday.

We wish both students the best of luck with their fantastic entries.
