Resilient Old Cats Storm to 6-0 Plate Final Win

Resilient Old Cats Storm to 6-0 Plate Final Win

The Old Cats would love to take the opportunity to thank Haileybury School for hosting such an amazing day on Sunday 14 September. An event that was exceptionally well run and thoroughly enjoyed by all the Old Cats who participated.

The team comprised of various age groups, with all old-school boys having a hunger to excel. Going into the first game was a strange feeling for some, due to a lack of hockey experience in the past couple of years; however, this did not hinder the quality that was demonstrated on the pitch. Playing St. Edwards in the first game was a good challenge; a 2-3 loss was nothing to be ashamed of. Losing the next two games by a single goal each was disappointing, yet it did not dampen the OC spirit. This led them going into the next stage of the competition, the plate. The first game was a strong win against previous opponent, St Edwards, with goals flooding in from all the players on the pitch. The Caterham lads had now truly kicked into motion.

The final game of the tournament was against Sherborne, in which we won by 6-0, showcasing the potential that was demonstrated in the prior stages of the competition. These commanding wins established the OCs hands on the plate trophy, an accolade that they truly deserved.

I would like to personally thank all the boys who took time out of their weekend to participate in such a wonderful day. Every single one of them are incredibly excited for next year, and hopefully, this time, they’ll get their hands on the ever-so-sought-after cup.
