Pupils take a Leading Role!
As part of the EDGE curriculum, our Lower Sixth pupils have been delivering engaging science and technology lessons to local primary schools. This year, for the first time, primary pupils are being taught science and innovation by our Lower Sixth students as part of the EDGE programme.
We recently completed the first three sessions with Year 4 pupils from Furzefield Primary, who took part in a variety of exciting activities. They explored the physics of motion with a Pendulums and Parachutes lesson, examined cheek cells under microscopes in a hands-on biology session, and learned coding with Sphero robots, navigating mazes designed by our sixth formers.
Both the primary pupils and our Lower Sixth students gained valuable new skills and insights, making the experience rewarding for all involved. The sessions also made excellent use of resources from our Lending Library, ensuring everyone benefited from our available tools and materials.
