Drama Scholars Dubbing Workshop
On Tuesday, the Drama Scholars in First to Third Year learned how to ‘befriend the mic’ as they took part in a ‘Voiceover and Dubbing’ workshop. Beginning with a series of vocal warmups, the pupils learned the importance of relaxing the jaw, stretching the facial muscles and opening the throat to maximise the use of their vocal instruments. They then created interesting vocal characters, using given lines of text, before learning how to dub over a piece of animation. Lots of interesting characters came out to play, and some fantastic vocal talents and accents were discovered! Well done to all who took part. Who knows, you might be hearing their voices on Netflix soon…!
“I learnt loads of new techniques and ways to do voice-overs and dubbing. It was amazing and I’m so glad I had the chance to take part.”- Ella J, First Year
