National Swimming Finals at the Commonwealth Pool!

We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible news from the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA) National Finals in Birmingham this weekend! For the first time in the school’s history, our dedicated Senior Boys’ team qualified and competed at this prestigious national level, marking a monumental achievement for our aquatics programme.

The finals were held at the state-of-the-art Sandwell Aquatics Centre—the very same venue that hosted the thrilling swimming and diving events for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. To compete in such an elite, world-class setting was a fitting reward for the hard work and dedication shown by our boys.

Competing against the top 20 school teams in the country, the boys delivered powerful performances:

  • 16th Place in the Senior Boys 4x50m Medley Relay.
  • Josh (Backstroke), Issac (Breaststroke), Cameron (Butterfly), and Matthew (Freestyle) all contributed outstanding individual swims.
  • 17th Place in the Senior Boys 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

Securing a top 20 finish nationally in both events is a fantastic accomplishment and a truly inspiring foundation for future school swimming teams. We are immensely proud of their commitment and the outstanding way they represented the school.

Congratulations to the entire Senior Boys’ Swimming Squad!
