Insights from The University Guys

We were delighted to welcome application specialists ‘The University Guys’ to school this week for a session titled “Global Admissions: Behind the Curtain.” Alongside two international admissions officers, who provided valuable insights and feedback, the audience was guided through a real-life international university application, highlighting the key differences from the UK UCAS process.

It was great to see so many Fourth and Fifth Year pupils and parents in attendance. A key takeaway from the session was the importance of starting early — both in researching universities and in developing a strong personal profile that reflects the best possible ‘fit’ for international institutions. While UK universities tend to focus on academic achievement, international universities are looking for the whole package. This is why Caterham pupils are so well suited to international applications, given the breadth of opportunities available to them here.
