MySkillStacker Launch
This week marked an exciting milestone for our school community, as First and Second Year pupils received their first digital badges through our new platform, MySkillStacker.
Developed by our EdTech subsidiary, SphinxAI, MySkillStacker allows us to formally recognise the behaviours, skills and aptitudes that pupils develop through our EDGE innovation
curriculum; the qualities that don’t always show up in a grade, but matter enormously. Badges are awarded across a wide range of areas, from communication and creativity to financial literacy and persistence. Each one carries metadata that captures exactly what a pupil did to earn it, building a rich, portable record of their growth that they’ll be able to share on platforms like LinkedIn as they move into the wider world.
We believe this is an important shift. Academic outcomes will always matter, but the skills that help young people thrive in a fast-moving, competitive world are broader than just exam result. MySkillStacker is our commitment to making those skills visible, valued, and owned by the pupils themselves.
MySkillStacker is one part of a wider effort to ensure every pupil receives the kind of feedback and support that helps them genuinely progress. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be trialing something new in that spirit: Ellis, an AI-powered tool developed by SphinxAI in close collaboration with our own teaching staff.
Ellis is designed to support our teachers in providing feedback that is specific, timely, and carefully tailored to each pupil; not to replace the professional judgement of our staff, but to give them more capacity to focus on what they do best. We’ll share more as the trial gets underway, but we’re genuinely excited about what it could mean for the quality of support our pupils receive.
