Harry E on International Stage

We are delighted to share our immense pride in Harry Elston (Lower Sixth) and his outstanding performance in the Chinese Bridge Competition in China during the past two weeks.

Competing against over 100 talented candidates from around the world, he progressed through multiple highly competitive rounds, reaching the quarter-finals and semi-finals and placing among the top 15 globally (top 3 in Europe). He cumulated the highest score among the 8 European candidates at the quarter-final which was an incredible result. 

The competition was exceptionally demanding, testing not only Chinese language proficiency, but also knowledge of Chinese culture and history, presentation skills, debate, teamwork, problem-solving and response under pressure. What made his achievement even more remarkable was the intensity of the preparation: participants were often given just one day to prepare for entirely new presentations, debates and other challenging tasks.

Despite the pressure and fierce competition, Harry consistently rose to every challenge. He demonstrated remarkable resilience, confidence and adaptability, and truly shone brightly on the international stage.

We are immensely proud of what he has achieved and of the dedication, courage and determination he has shown throughout this extraordinary experience.
