Twilight Concert

The First Year special of our Twilight Concert Series was a real celebration of our young musical talent!

Zoe M opened the concert with Summer on the clarinet, playing with lyricism and maturity and beautifully capturing the cantabile nature of the piece. Eliza B followed with Durante’s emotional and reflective Aria on the cello. Her performance perfectly conveyed the character of the piece, and her sound and intonation were warm and elegant.

Lottie C gave a performance of El Cóndor Pasa on the flute that was full of detail and care, with an excellent range of dynamic contrast and articulation throughout. Ishana P then played Tarantella Twist on the piano. Her performance was confident and accurate, and she brilliantly captured the ‘spider-like’ character that the piece demands.

The concert concluded with a delightfully energetic and enthusiastic performance of Ragtime Annie on the violin by Annika S. She played with real assurance, and her beaming, positive performance was the perfect way to finish this wonderful Twilight Concert.

Many of these pupils are already involved in our choral and instrumental ensembles, and this concert is yet another feather in their caps after only a short time at the school. We are so proud of them all and look forward to watching their musical journeys continue. Congratulations!
