An Evening with Fitzgerald

An Evening with Fitzgerald

For our Sixth Form English pupils, we are holding an immersive evening of talks and discussion, ‘An Evening with Fitzgerald’, centred on the novel ‘The Great Gatsby’. On Friday 6 October, at 7.00pm (drinks from 6.30pm), attendees will be invited to come in 1920s costume and will be served drinks and a themed buffet dinner, with readings, dance and music.

We are privileged to host Dr Niall Munro, Senior Lecturer in American Literature at Oxford Brookes University to talk about the novel and its literary context, as well as our own historian, Tom Murphy, to introduce the historical context of the period. The evening is directed at our Sixth Form pupils but we would encourage any Fifth Year pupils considering English at A Level to attend and we would very much welcome parents also. The cost is £11 per person and this includes dinner and drinks (including a glass of wine). Please book your place/s through WisePay (Tickets and Events tab). Please do email [email protected] if you have any questions.
