Diversity and the Workplace of the Future

Diversity and the Workplace of the Future

On Thursday 17 March, London Academy of Excellence, Stratford (LAE) will be hosting a very special panel event in conjunction with Deutsche Bank, entitled Diversity and the Workplace of the Future. Mr Alex Crossman, Headmaster of LAE, will be chairing the event and he would be delighted if you, or a representative of your company, could join him. The event will be held at Deutsche Bank’s offices in London and will feature an expert panel of industry leaders, including Fabrizio Campelli (Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Deutsche Bank), Monisha Shah (Chair of Wikimedia UK) and Diahann Williams (Group Human Resources Director, Howden Group Holdings). As well as a panel discussion, there will be a networking drinks reception and the opportunity to meet with some of LAE’s impressive students.

If you or one of your colleagues would like to join this event. You can reserve your place here

Many of you will know of the LAE, as a school which is very much a part of Caterham School story. Along with Brighton College, Eton College, Forest School, Highgate School and University College School we supported the founding of the sixth form free school in a converted office building in the East End of London in 2012, and in the ten years since, it has gone from strength to strength. Indeed, just last term, LAE was named as the ‘Best State Sixth Form College in England offering a full A level curriculum’ in The Times. These achievements are particularly inspiring when you consider the school’s unique admissions programme, which prioritises places for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The LAE has, quite simply, transformed the educational landscape in one of the poorest boroughs in London. We are extremely proud of the many ways that our school community continues to support the LAE: the 80 students in Caterham House are each paired up with a Caterham School pupil in the Lower 6th Form; our teachers provide support and  training and guest lectures, and we also contribute significantly to their co-curricular programme.

In addition to the kind of support outlined above, LAE benefits greatly from partnerships with London-based companies. LAE’s corporate partners provide essential sponsorship funding to the school and offer careers support, mentoring and work experience to its students. They are invaluable collaborations and the school is now looking to further broaden its corporate network. If you would like to find out more please email [email protected]
