Spanish play – Yerma
YERMA
Wednesday 7 June 2017
Every year Sixth Form Spanish pupils create an original translation of a famous Spanish play which is then performed by drama students. The chosen Spanish play for this year is Yerma by Federico García Lorca.
The work is an exploration of a woman’s obsession with motherhood that leads her to increasingly extreme actions. The piece will be performed in The Deayton Theatre on Wednesday 7 June. The evening will start at 6.30 with a selection of tapas and a glass of wine or soft drink.
There will be short talk from Mrs Fahey and Mr Parker about the translation process before the performance. There is no charge for the event but please book your seats on Wisepay in the normal way.
