A Blooming Good Start to the Horticultural Club!
The Horticultural Club has made a fantastic start to the year, welcoming a wave of enthusiastic new gardeners who are already rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.
Members have been busy planting winter vegetable seeds and carefully potting flower bulbs in the greenhouse, which we hope will provide a burst of colour just in time for Christmas. Alongside this, the club is also experimenting with microgreens, including pak choi and lettuce, which are already showing promising results.
Pupils have also started curating the seeds from last season’s plants which will then be the basis of next year’s planting.
We are especially grateful to Mr Armstrong from the Grounds Department, whose expertise and infectious energy have given the project a real boost. His guidance is helping our budding gardeners develop new skills and confidence as they learn how rewarding horticulture can be.
Thanks as always to the PA for their generous support of the club.
With such a strong beginning, it looks set to be a flourishing year for the Horticultural Club!
