A Festive Finale for Classics

The annual Classics Society Christmas Quiz brought the term to a memorable conclusion, seeing Finn L act as quizmaster supreme. He had put together a fantastic quiz with rounds on Roman History, Roman Mythology, and pop culture (Mr Owen’s favourite). A cryptic Greek Monsters round, devised by Holly C, also went down well with the troops. The winning teams won Haribos and everyone went away a great deal jollier and readier for Christmas than on arrival.

Classics Society meets every other Monday lunchtime in CL16. This term, talks have included Herodotus vs Thucydides, The Punic Wars, Catullus, and Culture Wars: identity politics in Republican Rome.
