Celebrating End of Term Outstanding ABRSM Music Exam Success!
We are delighted to share fantastic news from our recent round of Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations, which took place at school last week. A total of 38 pupils from Caterham Prep, Senior School and Copthorne Prep – ranging from Year 4 to Upper Sixth – have achieved exceptional results, with almost two thirds achieving merits or distinctions, showcasing not only their musical skill but also their dedication, discipline, and love for music.
From first-time Grade 1 pupils to those tackling the complexities of Grade 8 and above, every candidate showed remarkable growth, and these results are the product of months of practice, perseverance, and guided encouragement. What makes these achievements even more inspiring is that our pupils are not only excelling in exams – many of them are active members of school choirs, orchestras and ensembles, performing weekly at concerts and music events, including our Winter Concert which took place in London at the start of the week. Their participation in these groups and events enriches their musicianship, strengthens their listening and ensemble-playing abilities, and provides valuable experience that shines through in their ABRSM performances.
Congratulations go to all our pupils for their hard work whatever their result. Special recognition goes to those awarded the highest level of distinction: Alfred D and Alejandro GB. Also, to those who have achieved a highly accredited ARSM Diploma: Lucy B, Ethan T
