Creativity Takes Centre Stage in GCSE Performances

On Monday the Fifth Year Drama cohort performed their GCSE devised pieces to a packed audience in the Deayton theatre. Groups had started working on their original creations at the beginning of September, and Monday saw the culmination of their efforts. Not only did the pupils do a fantastic job performing their pieces with conviction and enthusiasm, they also demonstrated their impressive creative abilities through the pieces they had made based only on a starting stimulus. From a thoughtful reflection on reading, based on a real individual, Dan Pelzer, who read 3599 books in his lifetime, to a farcical comedy of errors seeing a group of would-be doctors murder a banana, the evening had it all!

Congratulations to all who performed. We can’t wait to see what you bring to the scripted performances in the Spring!
