Essay Competitions in Business & Economics

Essay Competitions in Business & Economics

Our Upper Sixth Economics pupils spent the summer writing excellent essays for our annual Business and Economics Essay Competitions. Across a wide range of titles, they pushed the boundaries of their understanding and learnt new academic skills which will be invaluable beyond ALevel.

On the Business side, noteworthy entries came from Thomas B and Isla H who discussed McDonald’s global strategy and the effectiveness of flexible working practices respectively, but the winner was Hallam F with his excellent discussion of the tension between principles and profit, a real tour de force.
In Economics, special mention goes to Henrik L and Spencer T and with their superb analyses of the impending impacts of AI and VAT on school fees respectively, but each was pipped by Leaane B’s insightful work on the pace of AI adoption, a timely and eye-opening discussion.

Congratulations to everyone for taking part, the overall quality of the entries is a testament to the strength of the cohort and the commitment of our Upper Sixth students to their studies.
