From Classroom to Courtroom
Upper Sixth Psychology pupils visited the Royal Courts of Justice as part of their Forensic Psychology topic, where they explored how the justice system operates in real-world settings. During the visit, they learned about key criticisms of the current legal process, including how delays in sentencing and trial dates can undermine the reliability of evidence, as memories naturally fade over time, an issue strongly supported by research into eyewitness testimony (EWT). Pupils also visited the Old Bailey, where they observed live murder trials and watched barristers cross-examine witnesses, giving them valuable insight into how evidence is presented, challenged, and evaluated in serious criminal cases.
