George wins the Young Playwright’s Award!

Congratulations to George in Lower Sixth, whose play ‘Fox Hunt’ has WON the Royal Court’s Young Playwright Award!
The Royal Court is the leading theatre for new writing in the country, and for George to have won in the inaugural year of the prize is an extraordinary achievement. Earlier this week, George received news that she had been shortlisted with 11 other young writers in her category, but on Thursday morning was announced by the Royal Court as having won!

This means that George’s play will receive a rehearsed reading in the Court’s second space where the likes of David Hare, Harold Pinter, and Caryl Churchill began. Alongside this, the play will also be published by Nick Hern Books. The department is extraordinarily proud of George’s hard work and impressive result!
