German Department Host BFI
On Tuesday, the German department hosted an online event by the BFI for current and prospective A Level German pupils. Led by a film expert and conducted entirely in German, the event provided the opportunity to engage closely and actively in key themes and motifs of The Live of Others, (Das Leben der Anderen), the film studied as part of the A Level course. Pupils were able to watch, explore and discuss in detail key scenes from the film, while learning and analysing technical film language, in line with the exam specifications, making it an especially pertinent revision opportunity for Upper Sixth pupils.
The German Department is looking forward to offering further BFI events for German pupils later in the year for our younger pupils, to complement their studies of German film and culture in lessons. Watch this space!
