Impressive Musical Talent at Year 1 Show
Class Concerts took place this week for our First Year pupils and there was an impressive array of talent shown by both instrumentalists and singers. Class Concerts provide an informal setting that allows less confident performers to share their musical ambitions with the rest of their form. Seasoned musicians and Music Scholars get the chance to share their achievements with their class. And, as always, there were displays of hidden talent.
In all cases, the support and encouragement shown by the classes was exemplary. Everything from Mozart to Imagine Dragons was covered over the course of the week and a huge array of instruments represented including Cornet, Viola, Drums and Guitar. A huge number of vocal performances included particularly impressive performances of pop, musical theatre and classical songs. Many First Years are already involved in the school’s ensembles and have been working hard on music for the upcoming concerts. It is always exciting to see First Years with such energy and enthusiasm for performing and particularly rewarding to see them develop into confident and accomplished performers.
