Intermediate IRP Final 2025
Last Thursday evening saw the Intermediate IRP Final, 2025 – the exciting culmination of a super academic competition open to all Third and Fourth Years. Thirty-nine students submitted essays on as wide-ranging a number of subjects as these two titles would suggest – Would the UK benefit from the expansion of high-speed rail? and The Sociology of the Hobbits of the Shire.
Congratulations must go to our nine highly commended entrants (Sincere S, Caitlin M, Oliver T, Lia N, Mumu Z, Leonid P, Ben D, Aaradhana S, Julian M).
The Wilberforce Hall witnessed the six finalists give amazing presentations on the following topics: Bailey C (Exoplanets), Catherine Y (Bach’s Organ Music), James W (Dante’s Inferno), Lucy A (Neuro aesthetics), Abi G (Power of Language), and Sophia PW (Tragedy).
After much discussion between the three judges (Deputy Heads Mr Salem and Mrs Webster and Deputy Head Designate Mr Law), it was decided that Abi G be awarded runner-up and Sophia PW be given the overall award for the best Intermediate IRP.
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
