LEGO Share Building Blocks for Success

We were delighted to welcome representatives from the LEGO Group to school for a day of workshops and career talks with our pupils. Drawing on their work in Design Research at LEGO, the workshop sessions gave pupils a fascinating insight into the creative processes behind one of the world’s most recognisable brands.

Some Third Year EDGE pupils took part in an interactive workshop exploring the role of music and performance in everyday life. Through hands-on activities, product demonstrations, and collaborative discussions, pupils reflected on how music shapes experiences, creativity, and connection. The session then challenged pupils to think like designers, working together to imagine and develop ideas while considering what users might value or need.

Alongside the workshop, pupils also had the opportunity to attend an informal lunchtime careers talk focused on the field of Design Research. The session offered an honest and engaging insight into the speaker’s own career journey, from teaching and consulting to working at LEGO, while highlighting the importance of curiosity, creativity, communication, and understanding people. Pupils asked thoughtful questions and gained a valuable perspective on the many different pathways that can lead into innovative and creative industries.

We are hugely grateful to the LEGO Group for such an inspiring visit and for encouraging our pupils to think creatively about research, design and future careers.
