Lower School Musical Talents
Our annual Lower School Concert displayed a wealth of excellent musicianship, both vocal and instrumental. ETS, our chapel choir, performed a trio of pieces by British composers Will Todd, Karl Jenkins and Edward Elgar. New member of ETS performed for their first time with the choir and Third Year pupils enjoyed their final performance. Our String Quartet performed Elgar’s Chanson de Matin with great depth followed by an exciting, rhythmical rendition of the theme from Pirates of The Caribbean. The Piano Trio performed the first moment of Haydn’s Trio no. 19 with flair and precision. Stand-out solo performances were given by cellist Izzy N (Bernstein’s ‘Somewhere’ from West Side Story), saxophonist Josh P (Bennett’s ‘Lamplight’) and trumpeter Ethan T (Goedicke’s Concert Etude).
