Lower Sixth Physics Trip

Last Thursday 21 Lower Sixth Physics students travelled up to London after school to attend a lecture taking place at Imperial College. The presenter was Professor Sara Russell from the nearby Natural History Museum and focussed on the OSIRIS-REx mission to bring back samples of the asteroid Bennu and what those samples told us about the formation of the early solar system. The talk was an excellent opportunity for the students to see how Physics can be applied and Professor Rusell was kind enough to talk to the group afterwards, answering questions on both the science of asteroids and her academic career.
