Meet Our Drama Leaders!
We are thrilled to welcome our new Drama Leadership team for 2023-2024. At the end of last term, the Fifth Year were invited to apply for leadership positions within the Drama Department, which they did by submitting personal statements explaining their suitability for the various roles. We were delighted that so many wanted to get involved in the dramatic life of the school, and so our leadership team is bigger than we perhaps initially expected it to be! Particularly exciting is the commitment to technical and backstage theatre that was demonstrated; rather than just one Tech Captain, we now have a whole Tech Team! We have also extended beyond Drama & into the wider world of Performing Arts, with a new Dance Captain who will be supporting Mrs Richards in keep her dancers on their toes!
The leaders will all have slightly different responsibilities depending on their given roles, from directing a Sixth Form Play, to leading a drama club for a local primary school. However, what they all have in common is a passion and enthusiasm for theatre and a desire to support and encourage anyone who might be keen to explore their theatrical interests. Don’t know what club to join? Nervous about auditioning for something? Want some advice on how to learn lines? Ask the team! They are a friendly bunch and are always on hand to point you in the right direction or offer some wise dramatic words of wisdom…
