National Cadet Award for Cdt Beck!

Cdt Beck (Fourth Year, Army Section) has received a national award from the Combined Cadet Force Association for her courage and calm during a medical emergency over Christmas, when her 87-year-old grandfather collapsed.

In recognition of her remarkable clarity of thought and deed under extreme pressure, she received a “Praiseworthy Action” award from Vice Admiral Hudson CB OBE, the president of the organisation that oversees the CCF movement across the UK.

Corps is very proud indeed of Cdt Beck and how maturely she put into practice her CCF First Aid training in a situation of great emotional stress. She is a credit to herself and to Corps.

We do more high-octane training than first aid, but, as Cdt Beck has so bravely shown, none more important.
