SENCO Teacher Networking Event

SENCO Teacher Networking Event

Last week a group of over 40 SENCOs and pastoral leads from local schools gathered at Hill Fields for a SENCO Networking Event. It was great to see so many SEND professionals from primary schools, prep schools and some local senior schools, sharing ideas and advice for supporting young people of all ages.

The theme of the day was Neurodivergence, the importance of early identification of Autism and ADHD. Delegates were treated to a presentation by Consultant Clinical Psychologist Dr Elizabeth Kilbey, who works closely with our Learning Support department carrying out initial consultations and providing advice to parents.  Her presentation covered the key criteria for diagnosis and the importance of ensuring that diagnoses are robust, as well as dispelling some of the myths on social media about these conditions.
