What We’re Reading!

The Fountains of Silence
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a historical fiction novel set after the Spanish Civil War and is about an American tourist in Spain who finds out about the secrets in the city. There is historical context at the end of every few chapters which is useful for understanding the story, but it is quite slow moving. I would recommend this book if you like historical fiction, or dystopian novels

The book thief
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It very historical and interesting about world war in Germany and an orphaned girl who goes to live with a foster family while trying to protect a Jewish man.
I would recommend it because you care and sympathise with the characters and the situation they are in

Journey to the Centre of the Earth
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quite slow for first 100 pages, picks up and becomes quite intriguing afterwards. I would recommend because it’s an easy read and keeps you interested. Professor and his nephew go to Iceland for an adventure to find out what lies at the centre of the earth
