Wright Society Presidents Teach First Aid in the Home

Presidents of The Wright Society Hayley L and Emma F visited the Prep School twice during the last 10 days to further deepen our links.  The Wright Society supports aspiring 6th Form medics, dentists and vets in the Senior School. 

Last week years 5 and 6 classes were given lessons on First Aid in the home.  Topics covered ranged from assessing the severity of head injuries to burns and cuts.  In very hands-on sessions, pupils were able to practice applying dressings and even learn about CPR using inflatable resuscitation dolls. 

Then on Monday this week a whole school assembly in Soderberg Hall looked at famous ‘Women in Medicine’ and the vital role they played, winning Nobel Prizes though often having to fight to be allowed to study medicine, something that seems unbelievable today.
