Year 4 Trip Exploring Beaches at Cuckmere and Seaford

On another gloriously sunny day the Fourth Year geographers headed to the south coast to undertake fieldwork required for their IGCSE exam. Beaches at both Cuckmere and Seaford were visited to assess the difference in coastal management schemes and reasons for them. Students also collected data on beach characteristics including using clinometers and ranging poles to measure beach profiles and callipers to measure sediment size. Data will now be analysed back at school, but the students worked successfully in groups allowing them time for a much-deserved ice cream on the beach.
