How you can help
Supporters
To deliver our bursary scheme, Caterham School is reliant on a community of former pupils, staff, friends and parents to make regular gifts to the School.
Thanks to the generosity of our former pupils, parents, staff, and friends, our bursary programme continues to change lives. Regular giving provides the foundation that allows us to plan with confidence and expand opportunities for young people. Every gift – large or small – collectively moves us closer to our goal of creating 40 Transformational Bursary places by 2030 and extending our partnerships programmes.
1811 Circle
Caterham School warmly invites supporters to join the 1811 Circle, named in honour of the year the School was founded.
Membership represents a powerful commitment to broadening access: an annual gift of £1,811 plays a pivotal role in enabling our Transformational Bursary Programme and supporting our Partnership programmes. With Gift Aid, every six members make it possible for the School to provide one annual bursary.
As a member of the 1811 Circle, you will be invited to special events. We would also be delighted to recognise your generosity on the 1811 Circle members’ board at the School’s main entrance.
leave a legacy: join the John Townsend Society
A gift in your will is a remarkable and lasting way to support the future of Caterham School and open doors for pupils through life-changing bursaries.
The John Townsend Society, named for our founder and his legacy of philanthropy, honours those who choose to make this special commitment.
If you let us know that you plan to leave a legacy gift, we would be delighted to welcome you into the Society. Members are invited to the School’s Remembrance Sunday lunch and other supporters’ events, and can choose to be recognised on a plaque at the School’s entrance.
More information on leaving a legacy is available here.
Benefactors
By contributing £5,000 or more annually, you can become a Caterham School Benefactor.
Benefactors play a central role in expanding our bursary provision: with Gift Aid, two Benefactors together make it possible for the School to provide one annual bursary.
To recognise your support, we would be pleased to include your name on the Patrons and Benefactors plaque at the School’s main entrance. Benefactors are also invited to exclusive events where they can hear first-hand about the impact of the programme.
Name a Bursary Place
We are proud to offer the special opportunity to support a pupil throughout their Caterham School journey by donating £10,000 per year or by establishing an endowed bursary place in perpetuity.
Your generosity will be acknowledged on the Patrons and Benefactors plaque at the School’s main entrance, and you will be invited to Benefactor events to follow the progress and impact of the Transformational Bursary Programme.
