AMY DAVIES – BRITISH NATIONAL TRIUMPH

AMY DAVIES – BRITISH NATIONAL TRIUMPH

On Wednesday 28 February, Amy flew to Edinburgh for the 2018 Swimming British Championships. Despite the harsh snow last week, Amy was able to compete for her first time in such an important competition. “It was a great experience and I very much enjoyed my time in Edinburgh. I was able to meet and see top British Olympians swim such as Adam Peaty, Ross Murdoch and Siobhan O’Conner. Although I had to adjust to the new surroundings and pool as well as the snow I was able to do a few good swims. I am very much looking forward to qualifying for next year’s British Championships and hopefully making a junior final”.

Our club swimmers train for hours on end, seven days a week, and it’s great to see that all that hard work and dedication pays off.  Amy performed fantastically well all weekend, and I would highly recommend you watching Amy swim the 100m Freestyle by clicking here  (fast forward to 37 minutes- Lane 3).

Commiserations to Isabella Berlin who was also meant to be competing in this event but was unable to get to Edinburgh due to weather conditions (keep working hard, and you’ll be there next year).
